Abstract

BYS (Bridging Youth Through Soccer) is an academy that selects youth soccer players in Plumtree, Zimbabwe to train at BYS year-round. The academy provides international academic and athletic opportunities to kids in rural and underprivileged urban communities. 

 

Lucky Mkosana, a professional soccer player, and New York Cosmos star, started BYS Academy for the kids in his hometown. He asked me to create an icon and logo for the academy before the first BYS tournament in December of 2017, and I was honored. I had so much fun learning about football icon and logo design and I loved the challenge to incorporate all of the symbols that were so meaningful to Lucky and the kids in Zim.
