Method Story

The most memorable days

end with the dirtiest clothes.

This is mostly true.

So I set out to create a fun experience that I knew would end up in a mess.

Ever tried painting in a white shirt with a one-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer? A mess is guaranteed!

I was watching Winni for a weekend in Palo Alto when I planned my shoot for Method. I’d been a big fan of Method’s design portfolio for a while and, as a new resident of the Bay Area, found myself seeing Method around more and more.

The set up was so much fun and really easy given Method’s great colors and scents. I decided to paint Method’s famous tagline, “Fear No Mess”, on my canvas while spending time with Winni outside. I had to keep her on a leash because Winni is a spaz and will dart after anything with a pulse and refuse to return until she’s captured it (which is almost never). The downside to the leash was that she felt left out during setup and decided to dart after the only thing with a pulse that was accessible to her: me!

She took me down y’all. Completely unexpected. She’s still a puppy so we started to wrestle and then it was all downhill from there: dirt and grass stains all over my clothes, leaves in my hair, paint on her ears. I tried to calm her down and make her feel included but I think that made her feel empowered.

Before I knew it, I was down on the ground again with PAINT EVERYWHERE. The funny thing about Winni is that she surprises herself with her own messes. In the end, she was not pleased with her work which made it even funnier. I think it’s because she knew she’d need a bath. Ha!

Thanks to Method, we were able to get all cleaned up, and I didn't have to worry about using Method around Winni because all of Method products are people, planet, and PET friendly, too! :)
